Deep Roots Tech Start a project
How we work

How a project works

A clear plan, a working version early and no surprises on the bill. Here’s what working with Deep Roots Tech looks like, from the first conversation to the years after launch.

The steps

Five steps from idea to launch

  1. Talk it through

Tell us what you want to build and who it’s for. We’ll ask questions, tell you honestly whether an app, a website or something simpler fits, and give you a rough idea of what it takes. The first conversation is free.

  2. Get a written plan and quote

Before any work starts, you get a plain-language plan: the screens or pages, what the first version does, what waits until later, a timeline and a price. Nothing is built on a guess.

  3. Build it in layers

We build the foundation first, then add to it. You see a working version early, on your own phone or browser, and tell us what to change while it’s still easy to change.

  4. Launch

We submit apps to the App Store and Google Play, set up your domain, hosting and email, and make sure search engines can find you.

  5. Keep it growing

After launch we fix what comes up, keep the app working with new iPhone and Android versions, and add features as you learn what your customers want.

What we hold to

How we work with you

Written before it’s built

Every project starts with a written plan you approve. If something changes along the way, we write that down too, with any change in price, before doing it.

Foundations first

We build in layers: the part everything depends on, then what connects to it, then the extras. Each layer works before the next goes on.

One person to talk to

You talk to the person building your project, from the first call to launch day and after.

Plain language

No jargon and no surprises. If there’s a trade-off, we explain it in words that make sense and let you decide.

Your choice of ownership

License it with our ongoing support, or buy all rights outright. Your content and customer data are always yours.

Honest advice

If you don’t need an app, we’ll tell you. Sometimes a good website or a simple tool does the job for much less.

Ownership

Two ways to own what we build

Every project comes with a choice, written into a simple agreement before work starts. You can switch from the first to the second later.

Option A

License with ongoing support

We own the code and license it to you for your business. For a monthly or yearly support fee, we keep it hosted, fixed, updated for new phones and browsers, and growing as your needs change.

  • No tech team needed
  • Hosting, updates and fixes included
  • Your branded version is never offered to anyone else
  • Buy all rights at any time for a set price
Option B

One-time purchase of all rights

Pay once and own it outright. When it’s paid, we hand over the source code, store listings, domain and accounts, and you can have anyone maintain it.

  • Full ownership and control
  • Source code and accounts handed over
  • Bug fixes for 30 days after handover
  • Support available whenever you want it

Either way, your name, logo, content and your customers’ data are always yours.

Getting ready

What to bring to the first conversation

You don’t need all of this. Whatever you have helps.

  • What you want it to do, in your own words
  • Who will use it: customers, your crew, members or the public
  • The three things it absolutely has to do
  • Apps or websites you like, and what you like about them
  • Any paper forms or spreadsheets it would replace
  • When you’d like it to launch
  • A budget range, if you have one

Have an idea for an app or a website?

Tell us what you have in mind. You’ll get a straight answer about what it takes, usually within two business days.
