Custom apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android

Apps that feel like they belong on the phone in your customer’s hand. We build each platform with its own tools, SwiftUI for Apple devices and Kotlin for Android, so the app is fast, uses the phone’s features properly and gets through store review.

What we build

Apps we can build for you

If people will use it on a phone or tablet, we can build it. A few of the kinds of apps we make:

Apps for your customers

Let customers book, order, request a quote, track a job or keep everything about their account in one place.

Apps for your crew

Job tickets, photos from the site, checklists, time and mileage, equipment records. Built to work with gloves on and a weak signal.

Church and community apps

Daily scripture, prayer requests, events, giving and ways for members to connect with each other.

Games

Card games, board games and casual games with computer players, play with friends nearby and online play.

Your own product

You have an idea for an app you want to sell or grow. We help shape it into a first version people will actually use.

Internal tools

The spreadsheet or paper form your business runs on, turned into an app everyone can use from their phone.

Capabilities

What your app can do

We work with the parts of the phone and the services that make apps useful:

  • Accounts with email or Sign in with Apple, kept in step across devices
  • Camera, photo and video capture, including reading text from photos
  • Maps, nearby search and location while the app is open
  • Push notifications and reminders
  • Payments and subscriptions with Stripe or the stores’ in-app purchases
  • Sharing between users, teams and families
  • Works offline and syncs when there’s a signal
  • AI features, such as drafting a scope of work from photos
  • Play with people nearby on the same Wi-Fi, and online play through Game Center
  • iPad and Mac versions from the same project
Our approach

Native first, honest about the trade-offs

Most of our apps are native: a separate, purpose-built version for Apple devices and for Android. Native apps feel right on each phone, run smoothly and get new phone features first.

For simpler apps or tighter budgets, one shared codebase for both platforms can be the better choice. We’ll tell you which fits your project and why, before you commit to anything.

Apps we’ve built

Every one of these was designed and built by Deep Roots Tech.

Oh Hell!

Ready to launch

The classic trick-taking card game. Each hand you bid how many tricks you’ll take, then try to take exactly that many. Play the computer, friends nearby, or players online.

Maintenance

In final testing

Tracks service for tools, vehicles and heavy equipment by date, mileage and engine hours. Snap the meter, log the work, and share the history with family or your crew.

TreeBid

In development

Homeowners take guided, measured photos and video of their trees. Tree companies get a scoped job with the work, tools, hazards and time to price it. Requests go to Deep Roots Services first.

TasteShare

In development

Save your favorite restaurant orders with every customization and allergy, and share them both ways with friends who have the app.

Questions

Common questions

Do I need my own Apple and Google developer accounts?

It depends on how you choose to own the app. With a license and our ongoing support, we can publish it under our developer accounts or yours. If you buy all rights, it’s published under yours. Apple’s developer program costs $99 a year, and a Google Play developer account is a one-time $25 fee. We’ll walk you through setting them up.

How long does an app take to build?

It depends on what it needs to do. A focused first version usually takes a few months. Your written plan lists what’s in the first version and a timeline before any work starts.

Can I try the app before it’s in the stores?

Yes. You’ll install test versions on your own phone through Apple’s TestFlight and Google Play’s testing tracks, and tell us what to change while it’s being built.

Can you add features after launch?

Yes. Most apps grow after launch, based on how people actually use them. We plan the first version so new features can be added without starting over.

Will my app work on both iPhone and Android?

If you need both, yes. We can launch both together or start with one and add the other.

Have an idea for an app or a website?

Tell us what you have in mind. You’ll get a straight answer about what it takes, usually within two business days.
